PAN-AFRICAN PAINTS
CROWN PAINTS TO BE A
PAN-AFRICAN PAINTS LEADER
As Crown Paints Group, we are looking to
expand our footprint beyond the greater
East Africa region to become a Pan-
African brand.
This is part of our elaborate plan to set
operations in Ethiopia and Rwanda next
year, which will be an addition to our
regional network of Uganda, Tanzania
and South Sudan.
We plan to position Crown Paints as a
Pan-African player with the capacity to
support African construction businesses
and transform African lives.
Our export markets sales volume in
Southern Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi
and Tanzania among others, increased
by 50pc in 2013. We hope to maintain
growth in these countries.
The East Africa economy will be strongly
backed by the continued investments in
oil and gas. As a company we are looking
to tap into these sectors by providing our
world class products and services, which
include protective paints, decorative
paints and automotive paints.
Crown Paints was established in
1958, and our intentions are to invest
USD$3.6million in Tanzania in the next
18months to build a market leading Paint
Company.
We are the only paint manufacturer in East
and Central Africa listed in EA’s largest
bourse; The Nairobi Securities Exchange
and we have forged partnership with
international brands. Recently, Crown
Paints inked a deal with India’s largest
adhesive firm Pidilite Industries, which
will see us distribute Fevicol adhesives in
the EA market. We also have an exclusive
partnership and distributorship deal
with Crown UK. We not only specialise
in decorative paints, but also protective,
automotive, and innovative products
such as Amourcoat, Acryline and
Flowcrete. We are the only company in
East Africa licensed by DuPont™ to use
Teflon® surface protector to distinguish
our products. Matt withTeflon® surface
protector for instance has features such
as scratch resistance, washabilty, stain
resistance and scrubbability.
Crown Paints is the only company in
Africa that has set up modern paint show-
rooms across EA, which feature the
latest innovations in paints and interior
finishes and offers consumers tips on
how to enhance building aesthetics using
quality products.
The showrooms are designed as a one-
stop colour expression centre, complete
with colour visualizer to simulate room
sets.
Earlier in the year, Crown Paints was
awarded a mark of identity, titled ‘A
Touch of Kenya,’ which was developed
by Brand Kenya Board to enhance the
competitiveness of Kenyan products
and services. With the award, the firm
plans to continue creating authentic and
credible world class products.
We have put in place several initiatives
geared to promoting use of quality
products to ensure safety and long-life of
buildings.
Crown
Paints
currently
has
four
showrooms in Kenya and one in Dar es
Salaam. This year alone, Crown Paints
Group has transformed lives of more than
10,000 pupils in Kenya through painting
their classrooms and dormitories.
