CROWN PAINTS INVESTS IN
IMPROVING LIVELIHOODS

“Our aim is to transform livelihoods,” said Rakesh Rao
CEO of Crown Paints Limited. “Our commitment is in
supporting societies and enhancing the environment in
which we operate. We joined hands with the Rotary Club
International by donating towards projects in line with
their mission ‘service above self’, such as KANBIS sports
club for girls’ education support and the transformation
of learning environments, amongst many others”.
CSR has become an increasingly important activity to
businesses nationally and internationally. Through our
CSR Program, Crown Paints has put a high impact on
society and supporting government directly or indirectly
for the betterment of society”.
Earlier in July last year, Crown Paints rewarded their
loyal painters with a World Cup celebration like no other.
Painters from TEAM KUBWA were invited to Nyayo
Stadium to watch one of the Quarter Finals matches on
big screen.
Crown Paints Ltd sponsored a charity golf tournament,
which was held on the 15th February 2015 at the Karen
Country Club. The theme of the event was “Golf for
Humanity”. Red Cross collected the funds which will go
towards enhancing and scaling up activities within disaster
management, where the aim is to forecast, prevent,
prepare for and rapidly respond to disaster situations
and health and social services, where the aim of this
programme is to develop an integrated community-based
health programme focusing on partnerships, networking
advocacy, disease prevention, care and support.
1. Six a-side cricket tournament
organised by Cutchi Leva
Patel Samaj.
2. Various tournaments organized
by NPCA whereby we had
3 teams participating, one in
Super League and the other in
Division 1 and development
team.
3. Various junior team
competitions including under
15, 17 and under 19
tournaments.
4. Various volleyball tournaments
organised by different
communities.
5. A volleyball tournament
where we were the hosts.
6. A few golf games to encourage
members to take up the sport.
7. Football training for juniors at
Goan Gymkhana on Sundays
where we hired 3 coaches to
coach the children.
8. Club’s main events: Diwali
night and Club’s night.
The core activity of the Club is Sports. During the past year we took part in various sporting activities and competitions
as listed below:
In December last year, our cricket team went on a cricket tour to India. This year we have 3 teams participating in the
league and various other cricket tournaments. 3 of our players were chosen to represent the Kenyan National team
including, Rakep Patel, who was also selected as the team Captain.
