Professional Golfers of Kenya (PGK) will host a Sh1 million tournament, sponsored by Crown Paints.
The Crown Invitational tournament is exclusively for professional golfers and will be played at the Muthaiga Golf Club, between June 4-7.
PGK will be using this event to prepare it’s members ahead of Karen Masters at the Karen Golf & Country Club to held end of June.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, PGK chairman Charan Tethy lauded the paint makers’ efforts of providing a competitive platform for professional golfers.
The four-day event will see 35-40 invited pros battle for a share of the Sh1m prize fund, where they will be expected to make the cut after two days of play.
Only 20 professionals will make the cut to qualify into the third and final round.
“We are concerned that foreign golfers come here and raid our prize vaults. They always win against our pros. That’s why we’ve decided to help the sport grow through such sponsorship,” said Chief Executive Officer Crown Paints Limited, Rakesh Rao.
Some top players expected in the event include, Charan Tethy (Royal Nairobi), Jacob Okello (Golf Park), Nelson Mudanyi (Muthaiga), Frank Matilo (Muthaiga), Sulivan Muthugia (Thika) and Erick Ooko (Royal Nairobi), David Wakhu (Golf Park) and Dismus Indiza (Mumias).
