It was a day filled with excitement on November 15, 2024, as staff of Crown Paints Kenya PLC, who are also former students of Starehe Boys’ Centre & School, returned to their school with a generous donation of Ksh 50,000 from Crown Paints.

The funds will go towards a much-needed repainting project aimed at enhancing the school’s facilities.
The alumni delegation, led by Crown Paints Group Marketing Manager Kelvin Munyi, included Senior ICT Officer Philip Wesonga, Treasury Accountant Ayub Odero, ICT Officer Wycliff Oyieng, and from Accounts Joseph Njuguna. Together, they presented the cheque to the school’s Director, Fred Okono, who expressed deep gratitude for the ongoing support from former students.

In his remarks, Director Okono praised the alumni for their commitment to giving back to Starehe Boys Centre, noting that the donation would significantly improve the learning environment for current and future students. “This gesture truly reflects the spirit of unity and the enduring relationship between Starehe and its alumni. We are grateful for the support,” Okono said.

The donation is part of an ongoing effort by the Old Starehe Society to contribute to the development and welfare of the school, ensuring that it remains a place where excellence in education continues to thrive.

With the repainting project set to begin soon, the school community is eagerly looking forward to the transformation, which will provide students with a renewed and inspiring space to learn and grow.
