Product Description & uses A quick-drying clear varnish formulated to produce a tough, gloss finish on interior woodwork.

Recommended for use as a furniture finish and for general application on new or sanded door panels and frames, counters, timber pelmets, skirting boards, wall partitioners etc.

Characteristics: Manufactured from a blend of high quality alkyd resin and a special hardening resin.

Advantages: Quick drying. Tough, clear gloss finish. Ideal for coating furniture and for general use.

Finish: Gloss.

Application: By brush or spray.

Thinning: Supplied ready for use but may be thinned with Crown White Spirit for first coat work, on bare timber, and for spray application.

Drying Times: Surface dry: 2 hours. Recoatable in 12 hours.

Spreading Capacity: 12 – 15 m²/l when applied to smooth, non-porous surfaces.

Equipment cleaner: Crown White Spirit.

Pack sizes: ½ litre, 1 litre, 4 litres and 20 litres

SPECIFICATIONS:

New and bare woodwork and furniture: Prepare surface (refer data sheet SP 2). Apply a minimum of 3 coats Crown Multipurpose Clear Varnish.

Previously varnished Woodwork – sound Condition: Apply 2 coats Crown Multipurpose Clear Varnish.

Previously varnished Woodwork – unsound timber, Condition: Remove all old and damaged varnish down to bare surface if necessary using Crown Paint and Varnish Remover and/or mechanical sanding equipment. Prepare surface as for new timber. Apply 3 coats Crown Multipurpose Clear Varnish.

Notes:

1. Do not apply Crown Multipurpose Clear Varnish over surfaces that have been previously wax polished unless all traces of polish have been removed.

2. All surfaces should be rubbed down with fine sandpaper or waterproof adhesive paper between coats to obtain best results.
