Crown Paints has unveiled a state-of-the-art showroom in Nairobi as it seeks to grow sales by targeting increasingly sophisticated, quality-conscious consumers in the residential and commercial property market in Kenya.
The new showroom located at Muthithi Place in Westlands will feature the latest innovations in paints and interior finishes and will offer consumers tips on how to enhance building aesthetics using quality products. It is designed as a one-stop colour expression centre, complete with colour visualizer to simulate room sets.
Speaking at the launch of the showroom, Crown Paints CEO Rakesh Rao said the firm has put in place several initiatives geared to promoting use of quality products to ensure safety and long-life of buildings, adding that the company was at the forefront of introducing innovative products in the market.
The showroom will showcase designer fashion finishes, textured finishes, Italian design marbles and quartz from Kalingastone, waterproofing and construction chemicals.
“We have invested in putting up a showroom that reflects our strong heritage in innovation and quality products. Consumers in Kenya’s property market have become quite sophisticated and are demanding more quality products. Crown is responding to the growing need for quality products,” said Rao.
Rao said the firm will get support from Crown Marble & Quartz Ltd. and Crown Classic Ltd to sell products by the two companies, which are independent of Crown Paints Kenya, in the local market.
Crown Paints recently signed a partnership with the Kenya Industrial Estates to train painters and provide them with financial support to set up viable businesses. The initiative, targeting 10,000 painters this year alone, is geared to enhancing quality standards in the construction industry.
The Kenyan property market has seen the number of residential and commercial developments targeting mostly the middle and upper-income bracket increase. These include gated residential communities hosting a multiplicity of amenities, as well as office and hotel facilities targeting mainly business travelers. This has boosted demand for high-quality paints and finishes, a space Crown is keen on.
